Information Services Assistant - Summer and/or Fall 2026 - Work Study or Regular Pay
Position Summary
The UC Information Services Assistant is often the first point of contact at UW-Whitewater, requiring strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills. This role supports guests, maintains a friendly attitude, collaborates with departments, and shows self-motivation, typically working under supervisor guidance. Integrity and professionalism are essential.

Tasks
All UC Employees:

- Participate and complete onboarding, UC-wide Orientation, and training.
Position Specific:
- Provides exceptional customer service in person, over the phone, via email, and through text by responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner, offering accurate information, and upholding the UC’s brand image using the 6 Keys of Exceptional Customer Service.
- Supports sales and operations by completing administrative tasks such as copying, faxing, printing, laminating, managing lost and found, assisting with mailing options, handling vending refunds, and charger/key checkouts.
- Operates and reconciles the cash register including processing sales, reconciling the cash drawer, pulling Transact reports, completing the Revenue Spreadsheet and the Report of Sales.
- Utilizes technology tools like Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Webex, Google Drive, and internal systems to complete tasks, manage data, and ensure efficient information flow. Assists with updating office policies and procedures as needed.
- Collaborates with UC departments, campus and community partners to respond to customer needs and supporting overall UC operations. Responsible for learning campus departments, resources, and policies to help students, staff and guests navigate campus. Works with Whitewater Chamber of Commerce to assist in promotions of local businesses, organizations, and events.
- Engages in professional development and teamwork by attending training, monthly meetings, being punctual and reliable, and contributing to a positive, inclusive, and service-focused work environment.
Additional Requirements (Meetings/Training/Event Staffing)
- Assists with fueling UC vehicles as available.
- Occasional weekend/night shifts for staffing campus-wide events.
