Audio/Visual Assistant - Summer and/or Fall 2026 - Work Study or Regular Pay
Position Summary
An Audio/Visual Assistant operates and maintains audio, video, and lighting equipment for events, mostly evenings and weekends. They troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with UC staff and clients. The role requires strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting, offering hands-on experience and professional growth through teamwork and training.

Tasks
All UC Employees:

- Participate and complete onboarding, UC-wide Orientation, and training.
Position Specific:
- Operate A/V Equipment: Manage and run audio, video, and lighting systems, including projectors, lighting consoles, microphones, and Crestron control systems during events.
- Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform regular inspections, basic maintenance, and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure equipment functions.
- Facility Upkeep: Monitor and maintain cleanliness in tech and gathering areas
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with UC Building Managers, Building Operations Assistants, UC Live, and Reservations to coordinate technical needs.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service by communicating effectively with diverse clients and supporting a welcoming and inclusive event environment.
- Professional Development and Training: Participate in UC training, evaluations, and developmental activities to improve skills and stay current with office policies and procedures.

- Technical and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate basic computer knowledge, the ability to problem-solve under pressure, handle technical equipment carefully, and maintain a positive, professional attitude.
- Ability to Work Independently and as Part of a Team: Must demonstrate self-motivation and reliability to complete assigned tasks independently while also effectively collaborating with team members to ensure successful event execution.
