The San Antonio Sports (SAS) Internship Program provides an excellent opportunity for participants to gain experience in the many facets and areas that are involved in planning, executing, and promoting events in the San Antonio area. The Community Programs Summer Internship is centered around the i play! Afterschool, San Antonio Sports Prep League, and ACTIVATE programs.
This internship is a paid position that may include credit hours as determined by the internship program guidelines of the respective college or university.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Assist SAS in the i play! afterschool & Prep League planning and preparation for the kick off in August
- Assist with the organization and management of equipment
- Conduct specified coach communication
- Manage uniform inventory and distribution for program
- Assist with administrative functions as needed
- Assist in prepping for ACTIVATE program and 5K
- Serve as event day staff in SAS events outside of the community programs department such as the Corporate Cup.
- Other duties/tasks as assigned.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with the ability to think outside the box and function well in a team environment. The intern should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and can manage multiple projects and deadlines. This will be a hands-on position; the more the intern puts into the program, the more he/she can expect in return. The intern will be exposed to various areas of sports management and will have the opportunity to learn more about the marketing, program, and event management process that SAS executes in order deliver high quality events.

- $12/hour
- Time Requirement: Must be available to work in-person a minimum of 15-20 hours per week with extended hours on evenings and weekend for i play! afterschool events and tournaments, ACTIVATE 5K and other San Antonio Sports events. Hours are flexible and will be based upon the intern's schedule
- Length of Appointment: May 27 - August 7; negotiable
