Marketing Intern - Summer and/or Fall 2026 - Work Study or Regular Pay

Position Summary  

The University Center (UC) Marketing Intern at UW-Whitewater supports the promotion of University Center events and services through digital content, campus outreach, and creative storytelling. This position assists with social media, blog writing, promotional campaigns, and more while gaining hands-on experience in marketing strategy and communication.

Tasks 

All UC Employees:

  1. Uphold UC’s service pillars of experience, courtesy, inclusion, efficiency, and safety.
  2. Follow UC Student Employee Guidelines
  3. Participate and complete onboarding, UC-wide Orientation, and training.

Position Specific:

  • Manage and create content for UC social media accounts, including Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat; regularly review analytics and perform a content audit twice a year to improve engagement and strategy.
  • Oversee and update marketing plans for UC departments, ensuring strategies are current, effective, and aligned with department goals.
  • Promote UC events and services through digital signage, online calendars, campus newsletters, and outreach at tabling events.
  • Distribute and hang up printed promotional materials such as posters and signboards around campus
  • Lead and contribute to UC storytelling efforts by overseeing the bi-weekly Student Marketing Committee and writing, editing, and publishing blog content for the UC Blog on WordPress
  • Attend and photograph UC events as needed

Additional Requirement(s) (Meetings/Training/Event Staffing)

  1. Attend Fall & Spring Unit Trainings and Monthly Unit Meetings
  2. Attend bi-weekly Student Marketing Committee meetings during academic year
