Intern- Product Development, In Vivo
The Intern- Product Development, In Vivo will learn basic laboratory mouse handling techniques, develop and execute an in vivo study protocol, gain knowledge in bioluminescent imaging, and experience tissue processing for immunohistochemistry with imaging analysis. Upon completion, the applicant will collate and present their data.
This intern will partner with In Vivo and Cellular Biodistribution during their time supporting AskBio. The position is located in RTP, NC and will report to the Manager, In Vivo.
Job Responsibilities
- Train to perform injection techniques
- Learn to perform in vivo and ex vivo bioluminescent imaging
- Gain an understanding of what is required to carry out in vivo studies
- Maintain a lab notebook
- Conduct research and analysis using immunohistochemistry and imaging analysis tools
- Participate in team meetings and provide updates on project progress
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure goals are met
- Assist in preparation of reports and presentations to share research findings
Minimum Requirements
- Must be pursuing a BS degree in Biology, Animal Science, or related field
- Must be at least a Junior at the time of your application
- Previous experience in handling mammalian tissue samples
- Preparedness to handle live laboratory animals (rodents)
- Available to work on site full-time during the summer months (May-August) at an AskBio office
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
- Prior animal handling experience
- Experience in tissue processing, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, and imaging analysis
- Proactive and solution-driven mindset
- Strong sense of accountability and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Experience with electronic lab note keeping
