Teacher Training Academy Intern

Sun Valley Community School’s Teacher Training Academy (TTA) is a 10-month educator preparation program that offers interns broad, hands-on experience in and beyond the classroom. Interns teach alongside an experienced mentor teacher, receive regular feedback and formal reviews from faculty in their subject area, and build a strong foundation in effective instruction, collaboration, and classroom management. 

In addition to their teaching role, TTA interns serve as Residential Advisors in the School’s Residence Hall and become active members of the campus community. Interns connect with students and colleagues through the School’s Outdoor Program and a range of extracurricular activities, working with learners of different ages while developing meaningful relationships. By the end of the year, interns leave with practical skills, professional mentorship, and a deep understanding of student life at SVCS—indoors and out.
