Lake County Assessor’s Office is recruiting for a Chief Deputy Tax Collector.  The Chief Deputy Tax Collector works under the supervision of the County Assessor; primary duties include the preparation, mailing, processing, balancing and reporting other collection of tax payments, including bank depositing.  Also includes the collection of delinquent property taxes including the filing of warrants for personal property taxes or the foreclosure process.  Maintenance of property tax records for bankruptcies is also included.  Performs a range of advanced and complex clerical duties including composition of correspondence, maintenance and analysis of records, preparation of statistics and reports.  Interprets law, regulations, policies and procedures in order to obtain from or provide information to other work units, organizations or the public. Other duties are included but may not be listed in this position recruitment.

High school diploma or equivalency, and 2 years of clerical support experience is preferred.  This is a full-time, union position with benefits that includes paid vacation, sick, and holidays, medical, vision, and dental insurance, and PERS retirement.  37.5 hours/week, $3659 - $4671 per month salary range.
