About Dark Alpha Capital

Dark Alpha Capital is an independent sponsor focused on acquiring lower-middle-market companies across the U.S. We specialize in founder-owned businesses with strong fundamentals and long-term value potential. Our team combines analytical rigor, proprietary sourcing, and technology-enabled workflows to identify, diligence, and execute compelling acquisition opportunities.

Technology is a core leverage point at Dark Alpha Capital. We build internal tools, data pipelines, and platforms that support origination, research, investor communications, and operational efficiency across the firm.

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly capable Full-Stack Developer to design, build, and maintain internal tools and platforms that support our investment, origination, and operational workflows. This role will work closely with deal, research, operations, and leadership teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys owning end-to-end systems, moving quickly from concept to production, and building pragmatic tools in a lean, high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications and internal tools to support deal sourcing, research, CRM workflows, and reporting.

  • Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and data integrations (internal and third-party).

  • Develop clean, responsive front-end interfaces for internal users.

  • Integrate data sources such as spreadsheets, CRMs, databases, and external datasets.

  • Implement authentication, permissions, and basic security best practices.

  • Optimize applications for performance, reliability, and scalability.

  • Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and iterate on solutions.

  • Maintain clear documentation for systems, workflows, and technical decisions.

  • Troubleshoot issues, fix bugs, and continuously improve existing systems.

  • Support ad-hoc technical initiatives across origination, research, and operations.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with full-stack development (frontend + backend).

  • Proficiency in modern web technologies (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, React or similar frameworks).

  • Experience building backend services using Python, Node.js, or similar.

  • Familiarity with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL).

  • Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

  • High attention to detail and code quality.

  • Strong written communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building internal tools, dashboards, or data-heavy applications.

  • Familiarity with CRM systems, workflow automation, or data pipelines.

  • Experience in finance, private equity, startups, or professional services environments.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar).

  • Basic understanding of security, access controls, and compliance considerations.

What We’re Looking For

  • A builder who takes ownership from idea to deployment.

  • Someone pragmatic and execution-focused rather than overly theoretical.

  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and evolving requirements.

  • Strong organizational habits and clean technical documentation.

  • A team player who enjoys enabling others through technology.

Compensation

  • Contractor-based compensation, structured based on scope, milestones, or ongoing engagement.

  • Opportunities for expanded responsibilities, longer-term engagement, and increased compensation as impact is demonstrated.

  • Potential to work closely with senior leadership on high-impact initiatives.
