Grounds keeping & Outside Crew Position – A One-of-a-Kind Summer Job!

Rockywold-Deephaven Camps (RDC) is a historic family resort located on the beautiful shores of Squam Lake in Holderness, New Hampshire. Since 1897, we have provided guests with a unique, all-inclusive family living experience that blends rustic simplicity with outstanding service and an incredible natural setting.

This role is more than just a typical grounds keeping job—you’ll have the opportunity to work in a truly unique environment, helping to maintain our historic property while contributing to one of the last remaining lake ice harvesting operations in the country.

Room and Board provided free of charge for the summer.

What You’ll Do:
As part of the Outside Crew, you’ll help keep RDC’s grounds looking their best while tackling a variety of tasks. Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining RDC’s historic ice houses – Each winter, we harvest 200 tons of lake ice and store it for summer use. You’ll help monitor and maintain our ice houses, manage sawdust insulation, and deliver blocks of lake ice to guest cottages using antique wheelbarrows. (Yes, it’s as cool as it sounds!)
• General Maintenance - Repairing screens, rotten deck & dock boards, fixing stairs and handrails, and other light maintenance tasks.
• Grounds keeping and landscaping – Mowing lawns, trimming trails, and keeping RDC’s property in top shape.
• Clay tennis court maintenance – Prepping and maintaining our eight clay courts for guests to enjoy.
• Dock installation & maintenance – Helping set up and repair seasonal docks along the shoreline.
• Firewood delivery & processing – Ensuring cottages are stocked with wood for fireplaces.
• Trail upkeep & light maintenance – Keeping RDC’s extensive trail system well-maintained and assisting with minor repairs around camp.
• Event & conference setup – Helping with the logistics of special events.
• Trash & recycling removal – Assisting with daily waste management.

What We’re Looking For:
We need hardworking, team-oriented individuals who are excited to spend their summer outdoors and aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty. Ideal candidates will have:

• Strong customer service skills and a friendly attitude.
• Experience using basic hand tools and equipment (hammers, drills, lawnmowers, etc.).
• Attention to detail and a safety-first mindset.
• The ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
