Laundry Attendant

Position: Laundry Attendant at the Stewart Health Center

Schedule: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, 1 - 2 days per week and Every Other Weekend 

Pay: $15.00 - $15.92, depending on experience 

Location: Charlotte, NC

Position Summary:

The Cypress of Charlotte is recruiting a vibrant and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a full-time Laundry Attendant, spreading sunshine and freshness throughout our beloved Health Center.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collects, cleans, folds, and redistributes the Health Center member's laundry.
  • Ensures that all Health Center laundry is properly sorted, washed, and dried according to Local, State, and Federal health center regulations. 
  • Ensures that the laundry is maintained in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.
  • Follows standard laundry, safety, and sanitary procedures. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively. 
  • Commercial laundry experience is desirable, but not required. 
  • Must be willing to perform routine repetitive tasks on a continuous basis.
  • Pleasant, tactful, courteous when around residents, and cooperates well with other employees.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Moderate to heavy physical effort 80% of the workday including repetitive folding movement, and strenuous pulling movement. 
  • Must be able to process 50-100 pounds of laundry at a time. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds independently. 
  • Must be able to push and/or pull wheeled cart and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds over tiled and carpeted surfaces over long distances. 
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and stoop 90% of the workday.
