Graduate Research Assistant
Healthy Aging Research Program: Faculty in the Institute on Aging have developed a research program focused on healthy aging using lifestyle behaviors such as physical activity, diet, sleep, and cognitive training. Our team aims to identify a graduate student interested in pursing a career in healthy aging to assist in developing this novel area of research by leading literature reviews and project set-up for funded clinical research studies. We are seeking a motivated doctoral student with a background and interest in aging, health promotion, and clinical trials research.
Graduate Assistant Role: This Graduate Research Assistant position is 20 hours per week and the ideal candidate would be available for the next 12 months. The Graduate Research Assistant will work under the mentorship and oversight of Drs. Aanand Naik and Stephanie Silveira. The graduate student will lead a literature review with an emphasis on exercise promotion for healthy aging and dementia prevention. Additionally, the graduate student will assist in strategic planning of a research and practice agenda, education materials for community members and healthcare providers, pilot projects, manuscript writing, and future grant proposal development.
