After-School Teacher
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate After-School Teacher (for children 2.9-6 y.o.) to join our team and lead engaging enrichment activities for our students. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about creating a positive and nurturing environment while facilitating activities that promote social, emotional, and academic development. This role requires creativity, patience, and the ability to engage students in meaningful and enjoyable ways during after-school hours.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging enrichment activities, such as arts and crafts, STEM projects, physical activities, and team-building games.
- Create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where students can unwind, learn, and explore new interests after the school day.
- Supervise students to ensure their safety and well-being during all activities.
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging collaboration, respect, and social-emotional growth.
- Maintain a well-organized and inviting environment by setting up and cleaning up materials and supplies for activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student participation as needed.
- Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate program logistics and ensure a cohesive experience for all participants.
- Provide basic first aid when necessary, following school policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting is preferred.
- Ability to plan and execute engaging and age-appropriate activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) is a plus.
Hours
This position is part-time, with work hours typically from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on weekdays.
