Payroll – Virginia Beach, VA

 

The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) is looking seeking a Payroll Specialist to provide comprehensive in-house processing support of the biweekly payroll for CBN and associated companies. Serving in this position facilitates ministry activities and contributes to CBN’s Biblical mission to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ worldwide.

 

This position works on-site in Virginia Beach full time Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm.

 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Experience working in an in-house, multi-state payroll processing environment
  • Possess and maintain comprehensive knowledge of payroll, payroll tax, and payroll laws and requirements
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and payroll software, UKG Preferred 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Critical thinker with the ability to solve complex problems and make solid recommendations
  • Skilled in reviewing payroll pre-check reports to ensure correctness prior to final submission.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with consistent attention to detail
  • Flexible with ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, and consistently meet deadlines
  • Discreet with ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of management and outside public
  • Ability to serve as a payroll liaison by supporting employees, timekeepers, and departmental leaders with professionalism
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently as well as being an effective member of a small team
  • Demonstrate life application of Biblical principles and practices in alignment with CBN’s nonprofit Christian mission
