Project Manager/Inside Sales - Steel Fabrication

Position Summary: This role will collaborate closely with the Shop Manager and Production Specialist to ensure that workflow meets specific customer deadlines.  They will also prepare comprehensive estimates for fabrication of miscellaneous steel projects based on blueprint drawings and requests submitted by customers, complete cutsheets for the shop based on the same when orders are submitted, and ensure that projects are completed as per customer specifications. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily as well as any other duties that may be assigned.

  • Work from emails, drawings, verbal, and written requests to prepare comprehensive sales estimates for miscellaneous steel formed and fabricated projects.
  • Analyze customer requests, project needs and interpret specifications.
  • Calculate cut sizes and develop cutsheets for the shop to use in the forming and fabricating process.
  • Generate sales orders in the company accounting database that contains order information and describes scope of work. 
  • Follow orders throughout the fabrication process from the time of customer request all the way until the material has been picked up or delivered.
  • Assist the shop with any questions or complications during the forming and fabrication process to ensure that the customer is receiving exactly what they request in a timely fashion. 
  • Continuously broaden and enhance understanding of Steffani Metals’ shop and fabrication processes. 
  • Maintain solid working relationships with existing and new customers alike. 

 

QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • Possess strong math skills with proficiency in Algebra, Geometry, and basic Trigonometry.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural engineering PDF drawings.
  • Knowledge of design and fabrication processes.
  • Take direction and complete tasks without supervision while maintaining a high level of organization. 
  • Ability to move orders/projects through many processes.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma required.      Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the Steel industry preferred. 
  • Bilingual is preferred but not required.

 

Work Environment and ScheduleThe work environment will be a mix of office and shop floor responsibilities.  The work schedule for this position is Monday-Thursday 7:30-4:30 and Friday 7:30- 3:30.
