Technology Intern - Spring 2026

Hoboken Grace Community Church is seeking a Technology Intern to support projects across web, data, automation, and systems. As our church has grown, so has the role of technology in supporting our staff, volunteers, and community. The Technology department builds and maintains the systems that enable the ministry to operate clearly, efficiently, and at scale. This internship provides hands-on experience working on production systems and workflows, with guidance from the department lead.
Interns may contribute to projects in one or more of the following areas:
• Website and frontend development
• Data analysis and internal tooling
• Automation and workflow improvements
• Systems administration and cybersecurity
This role is well suited for students or early-career candidates interested in software engineering, data analytics, or applied technology in a mission-driven organization.
This position may be eligible for school credit; the candidate must be able to work on-site in Hoboken, NJ, and must be eligible to work in the United States.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Interns are not expected to be experts, but should have familiarity with or interest in learning from the areas below.
• Curiosity, desire to learn, engineering mindset
• Basic understanding of software development principles and Git VCS
WEB & FRONTEND
• Languages: JavaScript/TypeScript
• Frameworks: React, Next.js
• Platforms: Cloudflare, Sanity CMS
DATA ANALYTICS & AUTOMATION
• Languages: JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, jq
• Platforms: Cloudflare Workers, Google Apps Script, Google Sheets, PostgreSQL, Planning Center, n8n
SYSTEMS & SECURITY
• Basic understanding of operating systems, networks, and cloud environments
• Interest in security best practices (access control, least privilege, backups, incident prevention)
• Exposure to tools such as Google Workspace Admin, cloud dashboards, or endpoint management is a plus
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Contribute to technical projects under guidance from staff and volunteer engineers
• Assist with building, maintaining, and improving internal systems and tools
• Support data-related tasks, automation workflows, or system configurations
• Document processes, systems, and learnings clearly for future reference
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to support ministry needs
SCHEDULE
- February 10 - April 23, 2026
- Part-time, 10 - 20 hours per week, depending on the candidate
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
- $250-$500 stipend at the end of the internship
