Position Title: Web Design/Digital Marketing Intern

 

Company/Position Overview

Mendon Group LLC is a Rochester, NY based small start-up company that primarily works on public sector projects.

 

We are seeking a highly motivated Web Design/Digital Marketing Intern to lead a focused project to refresh out brand identity and online presence.  The intern will help define our brand strategy, reimagine the overall look and feel of our website, and manage our LinkedIn presence to better communicate our mission and services.

 

Key Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct competitive research and propose recommendations for improvement in brand presentation and digital strategy.
  • Develop and document a clear brand strategy aligned with our mission, audience and services
  • Redesign the website’s visual identity (layout, color palette, typography, imagery) to create a professional, cohesive look and fee.
  • Map and refine key website pages, ensuring clear messaging, intuitive navigation, and strong calls-to-action.
  • Utilize AI-powered design and content generation resources to enhance efficiency and creativity to create mockups, graphics, icons, and other brand assets.
  • Draft and edit website copy in collaboration with the team to ensure consistency in tone and message
  • Manage and grow our LinkedIn presence (company page and leadership profiles); plan content, create posts, and monitor engagement including scheduling updates, creating posts, visuals, and engagement strategies that strengthen brand visibility.
  • Conduct basic competitive and industry research to inform branding, website structure, and social media content
  • Track project milestones, maintain organized files, and provide regular progress updates to your supervisor.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Current junior (rising senior) in Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Web Design or related field
  • Strong eye for professional and modern design with attention to details and consistency
  • Experience with a CMS – primarily WordPress plus basic HTML/CSS for updates and layout tweaks.
  • Ability to use tools like Figma/Canva/Adobe for layout, typography, and image treatment.
  • Understanding of responsive design, page structure, and user-flows that support lead generation or other inquires
  • Familiarity with social media marketing, especially LinkedIn, and interest in content creation and analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organization, and ability to manage deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of SEO basics (keywords, meta tags, on-page optimization) and how that influences site structure and content.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics or similar) to track traffic, conversion paths, and campaign performance.
  • Exposure to emails, blogs, or simple campaigns is a plus (e.g., nurturing leads from the website)
  • Understanding on the use of AI/AI-tools to drive growth (or willing to learn)
