The College Intern PRN Summer 2026 position at Parkland Health & Hospital System provides emerging professionals with practical skills, an operational relationship network, and real-world experience to prepare them to assume future positions within the health care industry.

Workforce Development, along with onsite functional supervisors, mentor and develop participants to be future Parkland employees through experiential education. The opportunity provides practical work experience, embedded in the hospital system, while enhancing the individual’s professional competencies and knowledge.

Each intern completes a strategically aligned major project gaining educational experience in their fields of study while also contributing to Parkland’s mission. Students also participate in enrichment activities, operational tours, workshops, lectures and career advisement arranged by Workforce Development. Interns can expect to utilize their education and leverage the resources of a large, integrated health care organization during their internship, helping to set them up for future success.

Intern Experience

Parkland interns can make a notable impact on the Parkland system and receive valuable experience learning in a clinical environment. 

Eligibility Requirements

  • Primary/permanent residence is preferred to be in Dallas County, or surrounding DFW area.
  • Must have completed a minimum of 15 semester hours of college course work post high school graduation.
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited university, or
  • Must be actively enrolled in a graduate degree program at an accredited university.
  • Prefer have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States of America.
  • Must be interested in utilizing your career field within the health care industry.
  • Applicants must be willing to complete a an 8 week commitment from June to August.
