Event Operations Intern
The Meijer State Games of Michigan, a department of the West Michigan Sports Commission, is looking for interns interested in sports operations for the Summer semester (May - June). Hours are estimated at 20-30 hours per week and weekends.
*Start/end date dependent on intern’s class schedule and internship requirements.
Internship responsibilities include:
- Researching sports and governing organizations
- Assist with online registration through Race Reach and/or Sports Engine
- Work with Event Coordinator to update sports information on website and sending regular sport specific e-newsletters through our database
- Working with sports directors to send updated registration reports and gather logistics needs (medals, water, etc)
- Assisting onsite with the various sporting events. Tasks include (but not limited to): check-in, results input, event set-up & tear down, etc.
- Intern will work sporting event weekends
Qualified candidates:
- Have an interest in sports or events
- Willingness to learn and ability to follow direction – training will be provided for e-newsletters, website and registration system.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Seeking a sports management, marketing, business, or similar degree.
- Able to work 20-30 hours a week and weekends
- Open to all levels of degree seeking college students
