Junior Grid Interconnection Engineer

Are you ready to power up your future and make a real impact on the world?

At X-ELIO, we’re global leaders in renewable energy (solar + energy storage), with over 3 GW built across 13 countries — and we’re just getting started, with 13 GW more in development! Backed by Brookfield, we’re on a mission to create a reliable energy — and we want you to be part of it!

What’s This Role About?

You’ll dive into the heart of our projects, helping us bring solar and storage projects to life. You’ll work alongside our Interconnection and Engineering teams, learning how renewable projects connect to the grid, solving real-world challenges, and helping design smarter, more reliable systems.

What You’ll Do:

  • Keep project data organized and up-to-date for our Interconnection and Design teams.
  • Help review utility reports (don’t worry, we’ll teach you!), system impact studies, and interconnection agreements.
  • Learn how electricity grids work — and how we plug our clean energy into them.
  • Analyze transmission and grid capacity — key to making renewable projects possible!
  • Support internal teams and work with external consultants to tackle technical challenges.
  • Participate in project meetings with utilities, development, engineering, construction, and operations teams.
  • Grow your skills in MS Excel, PSSE, ETAP, PowerWorld, and other top engineering tools.
  • Get first-hand experience with ISO/RTO interconnection processes across the U.S.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering (Power Systems focus is a plus).
  • Curious, motivated, and ready to learn fast.
  • Strong skills in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • At least 1 year of experience (including internships) with tools like PSSE, ETAP, PowerWorld, or PSLF.
  • Basic understanding of how electric grids work.
