Electrical Design Engineer I

Position Overview

Mattur builds advanced energy and power systems, including hybrid diesel generators, wind systems, and custom electronics. We are seeking an early-career Electrical Design Engineer excited to design mixed-signal, digital, and power electronics and get hands-on with real hardware. This role is onsite in Arizona and works closely with senior engineers to bring designs from concept through prototype and into production.
 

What You'll Do

  • Design mixed-signal circuits, including sensors, ADCs, and filters
  • Support digital interfaces for MCUs and FPGAs
  • Contribute to power electronics design and testing with mentorship
  • Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium or similar tools
  • Perform board bring-up and debugging using scopes, logic analyzers, and other lab tools
  • Write small Python or MATLAB scripts to support testing and validation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams during prototype builds
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, or academic projects acceptable)
  • Interest in mixed-signal and digital circuit design
  • Basic experience with PCB design and hands-on lab debugging
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
  • Self-motivated, learns quickly, and works well in a small team
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to high-voltage systems, DC-DC converters, or FPGA work
