Marketing Intern – Scaled Solutions Group - Potential for permanent full-time

Position Overview

The Marketing Intern will support key marketing initiatives across digital, content, social media, video, events, and brand development. This role is ideal for a self-starter who wants real-world experience in B2B marketing, SaaS/ERP technology, and professional services. This position is based at our Des Plaines, IL office and requires in-office attendance.

Compensation

Hourly Pay Range: $20–$24 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and portfolio strength (especially video editing and graphic design capabilities).

Key Responsibilities

Content & Social Media

  • Assist in developing and scheduling content across LinkedIn, website, email campaigns, and social channels.
  • Create posts, stories, carousels, and TikTok/Reels-style short-form content.
  • Support social engagement through comment monitoring, responses, and analytics tracking.
  • Research ERP, distribution, and manufacturing topics to support content creation.
  • Draft hooks, captions, and marketing messages aligned with SSG’s brand voice.

Video Production & Editing

  • Film and create short-form videos using a smartphone with strong lighting, framing, and audio.
  • Edit videos using Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut.
  • Produce 3–5 short-form videos per week based on trends and marketing needs.
  • Repurpose long-form recordings into micro-content.
  • Add subtitles, transitions, branded templates, and light motion graphics.
  • Optional: Appear on camera for certain content pieces.

Graphic Design & Creative Support

  • Create visuals for social media, ads, presentations, and case studies.
  • Update marketing assets such as brochures, slide decks, templates, and process maps.
  • Use Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar tools.
  • Ensure brand consistency and adherence to design guidelines.

Website, SEO & Analytics

  • Assist with website content updates and SEO improvements.
  • Conduct keyword research and blog formatting.
  • Track performance metrics including CTR, engagement rate, impressions, conversions.
  • Build weekly performance dashboards.

Campaigns & Lead Generation

  • Support webinars, landing pages, email marketing, and event promotions.
  • Assist with CRM updates, segmentation, and marketing automation tasks.
  • Participate in demand-generation activities.

Market & Competitive Research

  • Research ERP competitors, industry trends, and customer personas.
  • Assist in creating messaging frameworks and value-driven positioning.
  • Compile insights to strengthen digital strategy.

Internal Marketing Operations

  • Maintain the content calendar and digital asset library.
  • Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Jasper, Canva AI) for ideation and content optimization.
  • Support documentation, templates, and marketing processes.

Required & Preferred Skills

Required

  • Experience creating social media content (posts, reels, shorts).
  • Video editing skills using Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, or similar.
  • Ability to film high-quality smartphone videos.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Basic photography and editing skills.
  • Familiarity with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to produce consistent weekly video output.
  • Willingness to work in-office in Des Plaines, IL.

Preferred

  • Experience creating TikTok/Reels-style content.
  • Understanding of KPIs such as CTR, engagement rate, conversions.
  • Experience with AI content tools (ChatGPT, Jasper, Canva AI).
  • Familiarity with brand guidelines and professional branding.
  • Comfortable appearing on camera.
  • Understanding of customer personas and messaging.
  • Experience with analytics, SEO, or marketing automation tools.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Business, or related field.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Interest in B2B marketing, ERP systems, distribution, or enterprise technology (preferred but not required).
