Upper School Chemistry / Physics Teacher
Heritage Hall seeks a full-time Upper School Chemistry/Physics Teacher beginning August 1, 2026. Small classes, excellent resources, and a collaborative faculty culture support inquiry-based, student-centered science instruction in an independent school environment.
Job Responsibilities
Teach five sections of Upper School Physics and/or Chemistry
Design and deliver , inquiry-based instruction that emphasizes understanding, problem-solving, and scientific reasoning
Create a classroom environment that supports active learning, discussion, and experimentation
Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback
Utilize instructional technology and lab resources to enhance understanding
Serve as an advisor to a small group of students, supporting academic growth and well-being
Sponsor or assist with student clubs, activities, or organizations aligned with personal interests
Collaborate with colleagues in the Science Department and Upper School faculty
Communicate effectively with students, families, and administrators
Participate in faculty responsibilities typical of an independent school, including meetings, committees, and supervision
