Are you ready to make a real impact this summer? The Arc of Southeast Iowa is seeking a Summer Camp Supervisor to oversee our 2026 summer programs. If you have experience working with children or young adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities, enjoy leadership roles, and thrive in a fun, fast-paced environment—this is the role for you!
Camp Dates & Hours:
- June 15 – 26, 2026
- July 6 – August 7, 2026
- Monday – Friday
- Kids Camp: 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM
- Teen Camp: 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Position Summary:
As Camp Supervisor, you will provide oversight and direction to camp counselors, ensuring the safety, well-being, and engagement of all campers. You will implement daily activities, supervise staff, and help achieve program goals while modeling inclusive, positive leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise summer camp counselors and support staff.
- Ensure camper safety, privacy, and well-being, including health procedures such as medication administration, tube feedings, toileting, seizure care, and first aid.
- Respond calmly to health or emergency situations and communicate with families and Program Director.
- Advocate for campers, reporting incidents or concerns per policy.
- Maintain updated information on camper needs and provide guidance to staff.
- Ensure compliance with documentation, Medicaid guidelines, and agency policies.
- Remain flexible to schedule changes and program needs.
- Perform additional duties assigned by Youth Services Facilitator, Program Directors, or Executive Director.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR AA/AS degree with 1–2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities, including supervisory experience.
- At least 18 years old with reliable transportation.
- Comfortable in and around swimming pools.
- Completion of CPR, First Aid, brain injury training, and mandatory reporting (training provided).
- Attendance at mandatory camp training before program start.
