Elementary Special Education Teacher

Job Position: Elementary Special Education Teacher (Two Opportunities Available)

Location: Rock Hill, SC

Description:
Birch Agency is seeking dedicated Elementary Special Education Teachers to support students in self-contained classroom settings serving Kindergarten through 2nd Grade. These roles focus on providing specialized instruction, behavioral support, and a structured, inclusive learning environment for young learners with diverse needs.

👉 There are two distinct Special Education teaching opportunities available, each with a different classroom focus (outlined below).

Position Details (Shared)

Grade Levels: Kindergarten–2nd Grade (K–2)

Setting: Self-contained elementary school classrooms

Schedule: Full-time

Pay: Competitive compensation based on experience

Key Responsibilities (Shared)

Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals

Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment

Implement differentiated instructional strategies

Collaborate with families, general education teachers, and related service providers

Monitor student progress and maintain required special education documentation

Two Available Classroom Opportunities

Opportunity 1: Multi-Categorical Classroom

Classroom Setting: Multi-Categorical 1 (Self-Contained)

Primary Focus:

Academic instruction across multiple disability categories

Supporting diverse learning needs in a structured elementary classroom

Preferred Experience:

Working with K–2 students

Familiarity with multi-categorical instructional practices

Opportunity 2: Behavior Support Classroom

Classroom Setting: Behavior Support (Self-Contained)

Primary Focus:

Supporting students with behavioral and social-emotional needs

Implementing behavior intervention plans and positive behavior support strategies

Teaching self-regulation and social-emotional skills alongside academics

Preferred Experience:

Working with students with behavioral needs

Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and classroom management techniques

Qualifications (Required for Both Roles)

Valid state certification/license in Special Education

Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively in a team-based educational environment
