Athletic Communications Student Worker

POSITION SUMMARY

The Athletics Communications office works to promote HWS varsity athletic teams. We are responsible for hwsathletics.com, as well as all HWS athletics social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Threads and YouTube). In addition, we keep statistics at games, produce live webcasts and work with local and national media outlets. This is an outstanding opportunity for students who are interested in pursuing a career in communications.

 

We are looking to hire student workers to help in the office, at games and on our web streams.

Job Requirements:

Office work: (Assignments based on skill set) 

  • Help maintain and build history pages on HWSAthletics.com. 
  • Sort through photos of athletics contests.
  • Photo editing and graphic creating with Photoshop
  • Writing releases for website
  • Video Editing

 

Gameday work: 

  • Serve as spotter/statistics caller for statistics inputter
  • Statistics inputting
  • Run stats to coaches at halftime. 
  • Assist with general gameday needs

 

Social Media

  • Produce content during games to include video highlights, commentary and graphics
  • Produce additional content on non-gamedays.

 

Video Production of Games at Boswell Field: 

  • Camera operators 
    • Sideline roaming camera to get field level view of game
    • Center camera in press box for primary view of game
  • Producer
    • Runs web stream on Tricaster 
    • Communicate with website provider should stream drop
    • Be in constant communication with both camera operators
    • Manage on-screen graphics
    • Coordinate with on-air talent (play-by-play,analyst)
