About the role
As a first step, nothing prepares you better for a career with us than an internship. Our internship program provides hands-on, career-specific experience working full-time during the summer. You will work on real projects that deliver tangible benefits and measurable results. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to learn about and help to solve some of the most important issues we face. You will experience genuine teamwork, and work alongside highly qualified and experienced colleagues, while you work on live projects and operations, using the latest equipment and technology.
As a geoscience intern you will work as a Geophysicist or Geologist intern.
Key accountabilities for intern role:
Geophysics
Geophysics is concerned with the acquisition, processing, interpretation and analysis of seismic and other geophysical datasets (e.g. gravity-magnetic surveys) to create an image of the subsurface. The precise nature of your role will be defined by your skills as well as the needs of the business, but your responsibilities will include:
Working on projects and supporting your team to find the best solutions
Helping to maintain performance within your team and for bp as a company
Building relationships both within bp and with our external partners, collaborating across functions, segments and teams to deliver excellence
Demonstrating drive and dedication through the bp beliefs with an emphasis on safety.
Geologist
The Geologist Intern will be accountable for undertaking an integrated geologic description across either an Exploration & Appraisal area or a Development/Production asset. Various datasets, including seismic, well log, core will be required to integrated with other disciplines and datasets to deliver an integrated product, details of which to be provided at the start of the internship.

Minimum Requirements for the geoscience internship
Must be a citizen or legal resident of Trinidad and Tobago or CARICOM national
Must be pursuing a degree in geoscience, geophysics, geology, earth sciences, physics or closely related discipline
Currently in your penultimate year of study (pre-final year) with a minimum GPA of 3.0
Must be available to start on agreed upon June start date
