News Reporter Intern
Mission
Journalism is becoming creator-driven, video-first, and AI-augmented. This program gives the next generation of journalists significant practice in working with that reality while providing them with the opportunity to help shape the tools that make high-quality, evidence-based video journalism possible.
The Experience
Open to college students or recent graduates who are:
- Interested in journalism, political reporting, civic media, social activism, community engagement and organizing
- Want to practice video storytelling that strictly adheres to evidence-based, audience-first reporting
- Comfortable being on camera
- Curious about how AI changes reporting without sacrificing individuality or integrity

Program Structure
- Full-time, 10 weeks
- Small Cohort: ~4–6 interns
- Primary Track (70%) – Video Reporter: Focus on elections, policy, and political narratives
- Secondary Track (30%) – Product & Creator Lab: User testing, feedback documentation, and workflow experimentation
Success Metrics
Content & Editorial Impact
- 10–12 platform-specific published videos per intern over 10 weeks
- 100% of videos built using Newdle for research, sourcing, or script drafting – additional tooling may be available
- Clear source attribution present in all videos

- Factual accuracy
