Information Technology Intern

The Information Technology Intern will receive hands-on experience in various facets of IT operations and support within our organization. In this role, you will be assisting with collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large volumes of data to support business functions. You will work closely with team members and stakeholders to identify key trends, develop dashboards, and generate actionable insights that drive reporting and strategic decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Identify and understand customer needs, evaluate business requirements, perform data analysis, and document insights and recommendations. 
  • Organize, track, and report progress on assigned tasks to ensure timely and effective delivery. 
  • Be introduced to and use SQL to extract, transform, and manipulate large datasets from databases for reporting and analysis. 
  • Assist in the development of and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to communicate insights to business stakeholders. 
  • Participate in IT projects under the guidance of senior team members
  • Participate in ongoing planning, development, and delivery cycles (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, quarterly roadmaps, etc.) as appropriate.

Requirements

Experience

  • Progress towards a bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, network engineering or similar
  • Basic understanding of key concepts in the design and creation of dimensional data models 
  • Basic understanding in data analysis and manipulation of data sets, with any combination of modern data tools: Microsoft Excel, SQL, R, Python, Power Query, M, SAS, etc. 
  • Proactive attitude towards learning and professional development

 

Skills/Competencies

  • Strong organizational skills with elevated level of attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and proofreading skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, etc. 
  • Must be a flexible self-starter who can prioritize tasks, follow through and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

 

 

Physical Demands

  • Normal office working environment, full time with some flexibility 
  • Ability to type / perform data entry
  • Ability to read from a computer screen and paper reports
  • Express ideas and otherwise communicate with the spoken word
  • Possible travel between Kuvare offices
