+ Position Summary
The Lab Assistantwill support the Lab Manager through the preparation of samples, operation of analytical equipment, routine lab cleanup, and other duties related to the trace metals laboratory.
+ Position Responsibilities
- Chemical sample preparation, often using microwave-assisted digestion
- Operation of analytical equipment including ICP-OES, ICP-MS, NDIR, TCC, and XRF
- Maintenance of analytical equipment
- Proper cleaning of labware and disposal of lab waste
- Communication between the lab and sample preparation departments
- Data entry and creation of certificates of analysis
- Assisting with method development
- Maintaining lab quality programs and conducting lab quality audits
- Monitoring lab inventory to ensure key consumables are always available
+ Required Qualifications
- 1-year work experience in any laboratory setting
- High School Diploma or GED
- Microsoft Office Suite Competency
- Basic math skills and the ability to conduct unit conversions
+ Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree
- High proficiency using Microsoft Excel
- Experience working in a chemical lab
