Audio Visual Technician
$325 WEEKLY PAY
FREE ROOM & BOARD & MEALS FOR THE DURATION OF THE JOB
- Sets up, adjusts, and operates audiovisual equipment for various camp programs, including worship services and concerts.
- Operates and installs audio/visual equipment.
- Keeps the sound room clean and organized.
- Reports any problems with audiovisual equipment to the Program Director.
- Secures and locks all audio/visual equipment after each session.
- Videotapes camp activities daily.
- Produces a weekly review video for each camp session, including all music camps. Produce a staff video and camp promotional video.
- Instructs camp employees in the selection, use, and design of audiovisual materials, and assists them in preparing instructional materials and rehearsing presentations.
- Plans and prepares audio/visual teaching aids and methods to be used in camp classes.
- Performs simple maintenance tasks such as cleaning monitors and lenses and changing batteries and light bulbs.
- Maintains collections of audiovisual materials, including films, video/audio tapes, photographs, and software programs.
- Ensures campers and staff follow safety procedures.
- Participates enthusiastically as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights, and other all-camp activities and camp functions.
- Sits with camper tables during meals and serves as a table monitor when needed.
- Keeps personal living quarters neat, clean, and ready for inspection.
- Be available to participate and assist with camp programs and activities as directed by the Camp Director.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of media production, communication, dissemination techniques, and methods.
- Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware, and software.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of modern video production.
- Knowledge of The Salvation Army’s mission, philosophy, culture, and protocol.
- Ability to embrace, support, and promote The Salvation Army's mission and ministry.
- Ability to represent The Salvation Army professionally.
- Ability to build and maintain effective mentor relationships with children.
- Ability to communicate effectively with campers and camp staff.
- Ability to perform life-saving techniques, C.P.R., and first aid procedures in emergencies.
- Ability to operate digital cameras and video equipment.
- Ability to communicate and work with groups participating (age and skill levels) and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff.
- Ability to observe camper and staff behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
- Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid; must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess the strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.
Education and Experience
- Two years’ experience in video production preferred.
