Part Time Reservation Assistant

Under the direction of the Director of Recreation and Visitor Services this role provides frontline customer service and clerical support for park rentals. This role answers inquiries, processes reservations and payments, collects insurance, and keeps records accurate and up to date for the Recreation and Visitor Services Division. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Answers and responds to inquiries regarding reservations for all rentable picnic areas, camping areas, and athletic fields providing customer assistance as required. 
  • Provide accurate and detailed information on the Park Commission’s rental facilities.
  • Receives and enters information as necessary into the park facility reservations system. 
  • Checks and responds to all voicemail and email received outside normal operating hours. 
  • Issues park rental invoices and permits, collects insurance and fees as required and processes payments and deposits as required according to current fiscal policy. 
  • Complies with Park Commission policies and procedures and explains same to park patrons. 
  • Receives and delivers various verbal and written directives. 
  • Processes reports, checking for accuracy and maintaining files. 

 

Other Functions: 

  • Assists the Administrative Staff in performing the general clerical functions.
  • Takes and relays messages to appropriate recipients. 
  • Prepares reports and analysis as directed. 
  • Assists in the overall customer service functions of the Park Commission. 
  • Performs other functions as assigned. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum age for employment is 18 years. 
  • High School graduate or possession of an approved High School Equivalency Certificate or equivalent education or experience. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally in person and on the telephone as well as in writing and to promote positive customer relations. 
  • 2-years general office and administrative experience. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort learning reservation software. 
  • Strong attention to details; able to handle multiple tasks and collaborate with coworkers. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours Monday through Friday. 
  • Possession of a valid New Jersey Driver's License 
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. 

 

Part Time Annual positions not to exceed 28 hours per week.
