Afterschool Outdoor Educator

The Afterschool Outdoor Educator is an integral part of Imago’s largest program area, youth education. The Afterschool Outdoor Educator is responsible for planning, supporting, co-leading and leading Imago’s weekly afterschool programs at partner schools. 

Imago’s afterschool program is called Outdoor Explorers and it is part of Imago’s broader Branching Out program, which fosters regular outdoor experiences for youth in urban schools. This program is a weekly experience at the school site for our afterschool partners (one partner a day). A typical day would consist of arriving at Imago in the early afternoon, putting materials together for that day’s experience, going to the school and either co-leading or leading the afterschool program for that school, cleaning up and finishing. There will also be time for planning programs and routine office work. 

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with youth, working in outdoor settings and making a positive impact on the lives of children, our community, and our environment. The Afterschool Outdoor Educator is involved in all aspects of the program including planning, program delivery, and program evaluation.
