Social Media Student Intern

Gigi's Decor and More is seeking a student with social media experience to manage Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. You will help create content, develop a posting schedule, and grow our following while ensuring content aligns with our brand aesthetic and voice. This role is remote and is ideal for someone looking to build hands-on experience in social media marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a social media content calendar for Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook that supports promotions, product launches, and seasonal campaigns.
  • Create engaging, on-brand content (captions, graphics, short-form videos) and assist with basic video editing as needed.
  • Schedule and publish posts and coordinate publishing across platforms.
  • Grow followers and engagement through creative campaigns, contests, collaborations, and user-generated content initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the web design/SEO intern to align messaging with website campaigns and promotions.
  • Track performance with metrics (reach, impressions, engagement rate, follower growth) and produce monthly reports with insights and recommendations.
  • Stay current on platform updates, trends, and best practices; test new content formats and features (Reels, Shorts, Live) as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant program (marketing, communications, digital media, or related field).
  • Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts, with a portfolio or examples of content (authentic, on-brand posts; link to profiles or samples preferred).
  • Proficiency in creating basic visual content; familiarity with video editing apps and image editing tools.
  • Experience with scheduling tools and basic analytics interpretation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; creative storytelling ability.
  • Time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working remotely with a flexible schedule.
  • Knowledge of current social media trends, platform-specific formats, and best practices.

Compensation and Terms

  • Compensation to be discussed based on term of internship.
  • Internship credit may be available; details to be determined.
  • Flexible, remote schedule.
