 Job Title: IT Intern – Human Firewall Project Department: Information Technology Reports To: Information Technology Director FLSA Status: Non-Exempt / Internship Hours: 200-hour Internship (Summer 2026) Compensation: $15.00 per hour 

Job Summary

 The IT Intern – Human Firewall Project will assist the Camden County Information Technology Department in strengthening the County’s cybersecurity awareness program. The intern will support phishing simulations, track performance data, and develop training materials to reduce the County’s cybersecurity risks. This position offers practical experience in both cybersecurity and communications while contributing to the protection of critical government systems and services.

 Major Duties

 Assist in planning, launching, and monitoring three phishing simulation campaigns using the KnowBe4 platform. 

Collect and analyze data from campaigns, including click rates, report rates, and trends. 

Prepare and present progress updates for County leadership. 

Work with the County’s AV Engineer to produce short cybersecurity training videos. 

Design educational materials such as posters, email templates, and quick-reference guides. 

Support brief training sessions for staff to promote cybersecurity best practices. 

Contribute to the creation of a County-branded cybersecurity awareness toolkit to be used beyond the internship period. 

Minimum Qualifications 

Current enrollment in a college or university program, preferably in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Communications, or a related field. 

Basic understanding of information technology and cybersecurity concepts. 

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
 

Ability to learn and use new software tools, including phishing simulation platforms. 

Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

Creative skills in graphic design, video production, or digital media (Canva, Adobe Spark, or similar) preferred. 

Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and strong organizational skills. 

Work Environment Work is performed in an office setting. The intern may collaborate across departments and will work under the direct supervision of the Information Technology Director. 

Compensation 

The position is a 200-hour internship for Summer 2026 and pays $15.00 per hour.
