GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Principal provides overall leadership and is responsible for the daily operation of the
Early Childhood Preschool Program fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and
family-centered learning environment for young children and their families. The Principal
oversees developmentally appropriate, play-based instruction and the coordination of
academic and social-emotional supports that promote children’s growth, engagement,
and self-regulation in partnership with families. In addition, the Principal ensures
compliance with Ohio child care licensing, Ohio Department of Children & Youth
requirements, and other applicable regulations to maintain a safe, high-quality learning
environment, and is responsible for sustaining the program’s Step Up To Quality (SUTQ)
rating through consistent implementation of quality standards related to family
engagement, learning environments, curriculum, assessment, and staff qualifications.to

QUALIFICATIONS:
● A minimum of a master's degree or higher.
● Valid Ohio certificate/license to serve as an Early Childhood Principal.
● At least three (3) years of exemplary teaching experience.
● Good written and verbal communications skills.
● Demonstrated leadership ability.
● Able to use a variety of communication methods to build relationships.
● Excellent organizational skills.
● Able to use technology to effectively manage data and information.
● Valid driver’s license and daily access to personal vehicle.
● History of excellent job attendance.
● Must pass required criminal background checks, drug and alcohol screenings, and be
free from communicable diseases.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year as established by the Governing Board. The employee shall remain free
of any alcohol or non - prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout his/her
employment in the District.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy
on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
