We are hiring Operations Interns across our14 Language Villages, including Arabic, Chinese, Danish, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish.
Role Overview
Under the direction of the Director of Finance and supervision of the Village Administrative Team and Village Dean, Summer Camp Operations Interns support day-to-day village operations, retail activities, and logistical coordination. Interns serve as a key point of contact for families, assist with administrative processes, and contribute to the smooth operation of Village programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Village Store, including maintaining retail standards
- Serve as a primary point of contact for parent and guardian communication via phone and email
- Coordinate with the Village Administrative Team to support camper arrival and departure logistics
- Order village supplies within established purchasing parameters
- Perform general office and administrative tasks, including attendance tracking, printing, and recordkeeping
- Participate in weekly intern meetings and complete short projects focused on systems and efficiencies
- Adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment with a problem-solving mindset
- Drive campers and staff in Village vehicles as needed, including trips into the nearby town
- Support cabin counseling duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate Skills
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Ability to take direction from multiple team members and work collaboratively
- Maturity, sound judgment, and flexibility in changing situations
- Comfort working with children and families in a camp environment
Minimum Qualifications
- Completed at least one year of college
- Fluency in English
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to work in an outdoor setting with limited resources
Preferred Qualifications
- Six months of office, administrative, retail, or customer service experience
- Coursework or interest in hospitality, retail management, operations management, or related fields
- Coursework or experience in the target language or cultural area
