Sales & Customer Service Intern | Premier Guest & Hospitality Experience

Our internship program at Experience Vacation Rentals offers a rare opportunity to gain hands-on, real-world experience inside a quickly growing vacation rental management company, while living and working at the beach all summer. Interns are trusted with meaningful responsibilities, mentored by a high-performing team, and surrounded by a young, energetic culture alongside other interns. As we enter our 6th summer running this program, we’ve built an internship experience that develops practical skills in sales, customer service, communication, and problem-solving while giving motivated candidates a memorable summer, professional growth, and a strong foundation for future career opportunities.
 

What You Will Learn:

As a Sales & Customer Service Focused intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced vacation rental management business while building real-world skills in:

  • Sales & Lead Follow-up: converting inquiries into reservations, handling objections, and building guest rapport
  • Customer Service & Hospitality: delivering a high-end guest experience through clear, professional communication
  • Problem-solving: resolving guest and homeowner concerns quickly with a calm, solutions-first approach
  • Systems & CRM: using our reservations software, performance metrics, and customer relationship management software to support daily workflows
  • Teamwork & Accountability: improving through role-plays, feedback, and collaboration with our team

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Guest Interactions/Services:

  • Greet guests on the phone both warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive and welcoming impression.
  • Serve as a point of contact for guest inquiries, requests, and concerns via phone.
  • Build rapport with guests to offer an excellent and memorable experience.
  • Make outbound calls to both past and current guests to generate more reservations.
  • Proactively communicate with prospective guests when it’s convenient for them such as evenings and weekends.
  • Be customer-focused, prioritizing quick replies and exceptional service.

Problem Resolution:

  • Proactively identify and resolve guest & homeowner concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Handle difficult situations with professionalism, empathy, and a solutions-oriented approach.

Exceptional Guest Communication:

  • Monitor guest preferences and special requests, ensuring they are fulfilled to the highest standards.
  • Have strong communication with our virtual assistant team and respond to questions quickly and accurately.
  • Utilize our scripts and role plays to ensure excellent communication and guest service.

Upselling and Recommendations:

  • Offer thoughtful recommendations for upgrades, packages, or local experiences to enhance guest stays.
  • Stay knowledgeable about local attractions, dining options, and activities to provide curated suggestions.

Feedback and Improvement:

  • Solicit guest feedback and use it to identify opportunities for improvement in service.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to elevate the guest experience.

 

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1.5 semesters in college.
  • Previous customer service experience is a plus.Desirable: Real Estate License. If you do not have a real estate license, you will be required to obtain one, and the expenses to do so will be covered by us.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive mindset.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in property management systems, booking software, and/or basic office tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Drive, CRM software).

What We Offer:

Hours per Week:

  • Approximately 45 Hours Per Week in Wildwood Crest Office.
  • Approximately 50 Hours Per Week Total.
  • In office Sunday through Thursday from Mid-May to End of August.
