PREMED GAP YEAR WANTED FOR

MEDICAL SCRIBE & MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Job Type/ Position: Pre-med student with 1-2 gap years wanted for full-time job as a scribe and medical assistant in a thriving group dermatology practice.

About Us: South Shore Dermatology Physicians is a state of the art private practice located in southeast Massachusetts. Our eight board certified dermatologists and one plastic surgeon strive to provide exceptional care to our patients.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum)
  • Car for daily commute (Easton is 26 miles south of Boston)
  • Adept with computers/ tablets
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn on the fly
  • Willingness/ desire to learn clinical medicine on a steep learning curve
  • Multitasking in a fast-paced environment

Responsibility/ Duties:

  • Taking patient histories
  • Transcribing information into EMR
  • Assisting in biopsies, surgical and cosmetic procedures
  • Providing patient education
  • Coordinating patient care
  • Working closely together as part of a team

Career Development:

  • In your daily care for patients, you will improve interpersonal and communication skills, expand your medical knowledge, observe professionalism in medicine and the doctor-patient relationship. This will prepare you for basic skills you will continue to develop as a medical student.
  • You will complete an online training curriculum and become a Certified Dermatology Tech (CDT)
  • You will learn the medical language of dermatology, how to read journal articles and present case discussion/ presentations.
  • Our physician-mentors will review your application in detail and provide feedback on your AMCAS application, essays, MCAT score and help prepare you for your interviews.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour
