About GK Media Group
GK Media Group is a mission-driven media startup redefining journalism through structure, transparency, and clarity. At the core of our work is proprietary technology that powers how we evaluate and present information, giving us a first-mover advantage in building credible, structured media infrastructure. Combined with a disciplined editorial model, this foundation allows us to create a news ecosystem designed to educate, clarify, and prepare audiences.
Joining at this stage means stepping into the ground floor of a company that is reshaping how journalism is measured, understood, and trusted.
Role Overview
We’re seeking a Research Intern to support GK Media Group’s growing divisions — including Editorial, Operations, Podcasting, the Media Objectivity Score (MOS) system, and our Newsletter. This role is ideal for a curious, detail-oriented student who enjoys deep research, synthesizing complex information, and contributing to projects that bridge media, technology, and public understanding.
You’ll gather, verify, and organize information that informs GK’s content, internal strategies, and product development. Your work will directly influence editorial decisions, operational planning, and product innovation.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct topic-based research across news, politics, economics, technology, and media trends.
- Support editorial writers by compiling factual, context-rich background materials.
- Assist the operations and podcast teams with research for upcoming projects and episodes.
- Collect and organize data relevant to GK’s Media Objectivity Score (MOS) framework.
- Summarize findings into concise, actionable briefs or Notion entries for internal use.
- Cross-reference and verify claims to ensure factual accuracy across GK publications.
- Contribute ideas for research methodologies that improve content clarity and reliability.
What You’ll Gain
- Hands-on experience conducting professional-grade research in a media startup environment.
- Exposure to multiple divisions — from editorial production to data-driven product development.
- Mentorship and direct collaboration with GK’s leadership and editorial teams.
- Published or credited contributions across newsletters, podcasts, and articles.
- A role at the foundation of a company redefining how journalism is structured and trusted.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Interest in journalism, international affairs, communications, or technology.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise summaries.
- Strong writing and fact-checking skills; familiarity with credible sources.
- Comfort working independently and managing multiple priorities.
- Prior research or writing experience is preferred but not required.
