Accounts Receivable & Equipment Inventory

Ditch Witch of Central Texas, Inc, is a family owned heavy equipment dealership.

 

Position Summary: Accounts Receivable professionals manage accurate customer financial records across three profit centers, ensuring timely invoicing, payment processing, and account reconciliation. This role supports healthy cash flow by monitoring outstanding balances, resolving billing discrepancies, and maintaining strong communication with internal teams and customers. The Equipment Inventory function oversees receiving and maintaining equipment records within the company’s Data Management System, ensuring accurate costs, proper branch assignment, and sales support during equipment audits. The employee also works directly with customers to report, resolve, and follow up on any discrepancies or issues professionally.

 

Hours: 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday

Location: 16465 IH 35N, Selma, Texas 78154

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or general accounting
  • Experience with invoicing, payment posting, and account reconciliation
  • Strong Microsoft Excell skills
  • Experience with A/R aging reports and collections
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
  • Consistent follow-through on tasks and deadlines

 

Final candidates for this finance role may be subject to a background check in accordance with the FCRA, which can include a job‑related review of credit information with prior written consent.

 

Additional Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bilingual
  • 2-4 years experience in bookkeeping
  • Knowledge of GAAP and standard account practices
  • Experience with month-end closing activities
  • Familiarity with collections best practices
  • Working knowledge of sales tax rules

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of account receivable processes, including but not limited to invoicing, payment posting, collections follow up, and aging management.
  • Proficiency with DMS for entering, updating, tracking and maintaining accurate records for equipment and receiving documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, able to professionally communicate with customers, vendors, employees
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to multi task, meet deadlines, and prioritize in a fast paced environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, especially in data entry, documentation, and financial or inventory records
  • Problem solving skills to address issues related to receivables, inventory issues, or system errors within the DMS
  • Ability to listen to and follow procedures per the company requirements

 

Relationship with Other Positions (Organizational Structure):

  • Accounting department answers to Owners and Office Managers
  • Accounting department works with Sales Department for equipment deals
  • Accounting department works with all other revenue generating departments to maintain balanced days end

Working Conditions, Equipment, and Physical Demands:

  • Physical Demands-  Regularly required to sit for extended periods while working at a computer. Frequent data entry and document handling requiring hand/wrist motion and fine motor skills. Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching when receiving inventory, checking equipment, or performing physical counts. Ability to lift, carry, or move items up to 25 pounds as needed. Must be able to read screens, verify small-print documentation, and maintain accuracy in all recordkeeping tasks.
  • Working Conditions- Work is primarily performed in an office environment with regular interaction across accounting, service and department managers. Occasional work in warehouses, shop areas, or lot may be required for equipment verification. Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Involves periodic communication with customers, vendors, and team members by phone, email, or in person.
  • Constant use of hands to and fine motor skills for typing, paperwork handling, writing, stapling, filing, phone handling
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment compliant with OSHA guidelines and company policies
  • Safety observation and practice is paramount. Environment may have combustibles, welding, heavy equipment, moving gears and parts, electrical hazards, oils, fuels, chemical substances present in and around shop and job sites.
  • Must be able to speak and express or exchange ideas by means of the written and spoken word, particularly when exchanging ideas in meetings, and communicating with team members, orally and electronically
  • Must be able to listen/hear/comprehend detailed information through oral communication, including over the telephone
  • Must be able to see details of objects and print, to include fine print and to include both electronic and hard copy text
  • Must be able to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize own work schedule on long and short-term basis
