Color Guard Instructor

This instructional position is a year-round after-school program working with students in grades 1st-6th.

The instructor will work collaboratively with the lead color guard teacher to provide high quality instruction in posture, foundational dance positions, and introductory flag techniques such as drop spins and carves. The instructor will also support and reinforce choreography for a simple, age-appropriate routine set to a school-approved musical selection.

Students will learn essential colorguard fundamentals, including stretching, basic dance positions (1st, 2nd, etc.), and proper care and handling of colorguard flags. Throughout the program, students will develop a routine while building confidence, communication skills, teamwork, and self-esteem. Instructor will also assist Color Guard students in event days, field-trips, and competitions.

Recommended Experience:
Prior experience in NJROTC, ideally with a background in drill, color guard, or related performance instruction.

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
  • Some Saturdays: 7:45 AM – 12:45 PM
  • Event Days: Hours vary based on performance or competition schedules

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
