Legal Intern

Build your legal skills while helping Iowans thrive.

The Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) is seeking two Legal Interns to join our Legal Division—one undergraduate student and one law student. These internships offer flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that impact housing, economic development, and public policy across Iowa.

About Us

The Iowa Finance Authority was created in 1975 to advance affordable housing opportunities for Iowans. Since that time, we have helped thousands of Iowans purchase their first home or find a rental home in which their families can thrive. The Iowa Finance Authority has grown to provide a wealth of resources for Iowans, including low-cost water quality financing for communities, assistance for beginning farmers to establish their farming operations, homelessness assistance for Iowans in need and residential and commercial title protection. IFA is co-located and shares certain staff with the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA).

About the Legal Division

The Legal Division includes the Legal and Policy Team, Iowa Title Guaranty (ITG), and the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO). The Legal & Policy Team provides legal counsel and policy guidance to agency staff and boards/committees, and ITG is Iowa’s exclusive title coverage provider for real property.
