Job Description
Ryan Companies has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a VDC Intern in our Atlanta office! This position is available as a summer internship running from May 2026 to August 2026 or earlier.
The VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) intern assists the project team in the completion of designated projects while focusing on learning construction industry processes, procedures, and Ryan business policies
Some things you can expect to do:
Develop a first-hand understanding of job-site coordination, scheduling, quality control and safety.
Assist VDC Engineers and Managers in daily responsibilities, including model management, design coordination, field support, and other requests from the project team.
Gain a working understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) administration, coordination, and model management.
Assist project teams in creation of pursuit materials and other exhibits.
Learn core VDC software and processes, including Autodesk and Adobe products
Develop and maintain site logistics and schedule sequencing models
Partner with project VDC resources and team members to create virtual mockups
To be successful in this role:
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
Within 18 months of graduating with a four-year degree in Construction Engineering/Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, BIM Management or closely related field.
Able to work 40 hours a week for at least a three-month term.

You will really stand out if you:
At least one summer of construction, architecture, engineering or BIM related work experience.
Have a general knowledge of BIM, construction, scheduling and 3D modeling.
Possess the ability to read and understand contracts, specifications and architectural and engineering drawings.
Communicate clearly orally and in writing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
Within 18 months of graduating with a four-year degree in Construction Engineering/Management or closely-related field.
Able to work 40 hours a week for at least a three-month term.

Preferred Qualifications:
Have a general knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control methods.
Have the ability to perform mathematical calculations.
Possess the ability to read and understand contracts, specifications and architectural and engineering drawings.
Communicate clearly orally and in writing.
