Summer Sales Intern

Position Summary
Summer Sales Intern (6-8 weeks) will gain broad exposure to all facets of the sales organization, including SMB, Enterprise, Payer, and Partner sales, while also learning how Sales closely collaborates with Marketing. Interns will receive training on industry-standard sales tools, most notably Salesforce.com, and will actively participate in outbound sales activities, functioning in many ways like an Entry-Level Sales Development Representative (SDR).

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Exposure & Training
• Gain hands-on exposure to multiple sales motions, including SMB, Enterprise, Payer, and Partner sales.
• Learn the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting and qualification to handoff and pipeline management.
• Participate in sales team meetings, training sessions, and strategy discussions.
Sales Tools & Technology
• Receive training on Salesforce.com, including lead management, activity tracking, and reporting basics.
• Learn how sales technology supports pipeline management, forecasting, and performance tracking.
• Maintain accurate activity and prospect data in Salesforce.
Sales Development & Prospecting
• Conduct outbound phone calls to prospective dental practices.
• Support appointment-setting efforts for Account Executives and Sales Managers.
• Learn effective call scripts, objection handling, and discovery fundamentals.
• Track outreach activities and results to measure effectiveness.
Marketing Collaboration
• Gain exposure to the Marketing team and understand how marketing campaigns support sales efforts.
• Learn how leads are generated, nurtured, and converted into sales opportunities.
• Assist with light research or campaign support as needed.
Professional Development
• Receive coaching and feedback from experienced sales professionals.
• Build foundational skills in communication, prospecting, and consultative selling.
• Learn best practices for operating in a professional B2B technology sales environment.

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Skillset)
• Must be a full-time college student (rising sophomore, junior, or senior preferred).
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in technology sales or related business fields.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable speaking on the phone and engaging with prospective customers.
• Self-motivated, coachable, and eager to learn.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce) is a plus but not required.

Physical and Mental Demands
• Physical: Primarily sedentary role, with ability to sit for extended periods on the phone/at the desk required. Involves standing, walking, sitting, handling papers and folders, ordinary talking, hearing, and vision. Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds.
