Mobile Intake Coordinator

Greater Philadelphia Health Action, Inc. (GPHA), a non-profit organization that was founded in 1970, is hiring Mobile Intake Coordinator Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, at multiple locations:

 

  • Carl Moore Health Center, 1401 S. 31st St. Phila., PA 19146
  • Chinatown Medical Services, 432 N. 6th St. Phila., PA 19123
  • Frankford Ave Health Center, 4500 - 4510 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19124
  • Hunting Park Health Center, 1999 W. Hunting Park Ave. Phila., PA 19140
  • Southeast Health Center, 800 Washington Ave. Phila., PA 19147
  • Woodland Ave Health Ave, 5000 Woodland Ave. Phila., PA 19143

 

We are looking for candidates with a High School Diploma (or GED) and at least one year’s experience working in a medical setting; Medical Assistant/Office Assistant Certificate/ Associate’s degree preferred. The ideal candidate has comprehensive knowledge of insurances and medical terminology; is able to type at a speed of at least 60 words per minute; able to interact with people compassionately and effectively while gathering necessary information; able to make independent decisions and works well with others. Experience in phone triage or as telephone operator preferred. Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EHR) preferred. Bi-lingual desired, but not required. CPR certified.

Specific Responsibilities and duties include: greeting and welcoming patients and visitors to the health centers in a friendly and courteous manner; reviewing patient medical records before appointments in order to obtain previously ordered reports and tests; updating patient demographic, financial and insurance information accurately in the electronic health record; preparing patients for office or telehealth visits, by gathering relevant information for various medical specialties; conducting standard office screening questions; scheduling external referrals as directed by clinical staff; completing all necessary documentation and tracking for referral scheduling; up keeping the exam rooms and disinfecting/cleaning of medical procedure instruments before sterilization.
