Position Title: Lead Teacher – School-Age Program   

Position located near IUI Campus! (position is part of the Community Work-study program at IUI) This position is limited to IUI Student candidates with a Federal Work-Study award. To verify you have a Federal Work-Study award, please go to your One.IU.edu Account, Student Center, Financial Aid Summary. Department/Office: Prosperity Enrichment Inc.  

Hourly Wage: $18.00  

Average Hours/Week: Up to 20hrs.

Position Duration: Employment is contingent upon the student maintaining eligibility under the Federal Work-Study, University, and CWS requirements, as well as the availability of their work-study award each semester. 

  

Office Overview:  

Prosperity Enrichment Inc. is a youth-centered nonprofit organization providing structured before-school, after-school, and enrichment programming for children ages 5–14. The SchoolAge Program focuses on academic support, leadership development, social-emotional learning, and positive peer engagement. Lead Teachers support daily program operations while fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.  

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

50% Lead and supervise program activities for youth ages 5–14, ensuring safety, positive behavior management, and engagement.  

20% Facilitate academic support, homework assistance, and enrichment activities that promote learning and skill development.  

20% Track attendance, behavior documentation, and communicate program updates with families and supervisors.  

10% Other duties as assigned by the supervisor in support of organizational goals and youth success.

Computer (basic word processing and attendance tracking)  

Educational and enrichment materials  

Arts, recreation, and sports equipment  

Indoor and outdoor activity supplies

Qualifications:  

Interest in education, youth development, or community service  

Experience working with school-age children preferred  

Strong leadership, communication, and organization skills
