IT Support Services-Computer Store Management Student Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to be a valued member of our team and help run the University Computer store.

Responsibilities:

  • Process orders for computer hardware and software from university faculty and staff.
  • Place orders with numerous vendors by working with their online portals and ordering systems.
  • Reconcile credit card charges to the correct university billing accounts.
  • Communicate with customers about order status, supply issues and order modifications.
  • Receive shipments, process inventory and notify customers of order ready to pick up.
  • Work with zone technicians on computer system preparation for end users.
  • Help to write technical documentation to common solutions.

Skill Requirements:

  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Basic computer skills with Macintosh or Windows systems.
  • Familiarity with general computer hardware and software to QC orders to maximize value.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
  • Basic customer service and communication skills.
  • Healthy sense of curiosity and desire to learn.

Time requirements:

  • Current hours of operation span Monday – Friday 8am-5pm.
  • We typically expect 15-20 hours per week from our student employees but this can be flexible.
