Cybersecurity Engineering Internship / Entry-Level Position

This opportunity is open to current students seeking an internship and graduating seniors seeking an entry-level, full-time role. In both cases, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and cyber professionals supporting real-world defense systems, networks, and applications.
You’ll learn how complex systems are secured, how vulnerabilities are identified, and how cyber threats are mitigated—while gaining hands-on experience that actually matters.
What You’ll Work On
Depending on your background and academic level, you may support:
- Vulnerability assessments and system hardening
- Threat modeling and cyber risk analysis
- Secure system design and architecture
- Cyber testing and evaluation
- Log analysis and system monitoring
- Supporting incident response activities
- Documentation of findings and recommendations
- Working with engineers, system owners, and IT professionals
Assignments are tailored to your experience level—whether you’re early in your degree or preparing to transition into the workforce.
Required Qualifications
You may be a good fit if you:
- Are pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in:
- Cybersecurity
- Computer Science
- Computer Engineering
- Information Technology / Information Systems
- Software Engineering
- Or a related field
- Enjoy problem-solving and systems thinking
- Are interested in how systems fail—and how to make them stronger
- Have taken or are currently taking coursework in areas such as:
- Networking
- Operating systems
- Cybersecurity fundamentals
- Programming or scripting
- Systems security
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Familiarity with Linux or Windows internals
- Exposure to networking concepts (firewalls, TCP/IP, protocols)
- Participation in CTFs, labs, clubs, or cyber competitions
- Interest in red team / blue team concepts
