What You’ll Need

  • If you have your bachelor’s degree (any major):
    • You're eligible to join Swing as a paraprofessional or teacher’s aide
    • No substitute teaching permit or credential required for this role
    • If you want to move into lead teaching roles later, we offer SwingCert to help you earn your Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit
  • If you’re still working toward your degree:
    • You must have completed at least 90 college credits
    • You also need the CL-505d Emergency Permit for Prospective Teachers
    • Not sure where to start? We recommend finishing your degree first to access more job types
  • All candidates must:
    • Pass a background check and TB test (we’ll help guide you through the steps)

Pay and Flexibility

  • Daily rates vary based on assignment type, school, and location
  • Earn up to 50 percent more for high-need or last-minute requests
