Microbiology Technician

Job Title: Microbiology Technician

Pay: $24-26/hr Depending on level of experience 

Job Overview: Our client is looking for a detail-oriented individual to join their Quality team as a Micro Testing Technician. In this role, this individual will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and analyses to support our ongoing research and development efforts.

• Assist in execution of experiments by preparing and maintaining equipment and gathering specimen samples for analysis
• Conducting microbiological tests and experiments, such as culturing, identifying, and enumerating various microorganisms
• Perform microbiology analysis on finished products, raw ingredients and in-process materials (i.e., aerobic plate count, yeast/mold count, lactic acid bacteria count, presence/absence of pathogenic bacteria) to ensure conformance with required specification following defined cultural techniques and procedures
• Preparing media, reagents, and other laboratory materials to ensure accurate and reliable results
• Maintaining detailed records and documentation of all laboratory procedures and findings
• Assisting in the interpretation and analysis of data to support the development of new products or processes
• Adhering to strict safety protocols and quality control measures to ensure the integrity of the laboratory environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of lab experience, preferably in a microbiology or research-focused role
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise protocols and procedures
• Aptitude to work in both independently and within a team environment.
